The domaine

Janik Domaine de l'Astic, Ardeche

Our Story

Ardéchois by adoption for more than 45 years, Graham and Janik Murphy began to restore the domain of l’Astic in 1990. They had the dream of creating a small holiday farmstay in the countryside to help hosts relax, find peace and return to nature. They have always favored the authenticity of the heritage and the estate has been restored with love, passion, quality and patience. Unfortunately, in 2015 Graham passed away, but his dream continued thanks to the strength of Janik who continues to smile and to Laurent who maintains the estate as Graham would have loved.

Today we are dedicated to developing the domaine de l’Astic to accommodate self catering groups. With more than 25 years of experience in hospitality and tourism, we offer a personalized, authentic welcome, far from the crowds, surrounded by nature but at the same time close to many famous sites such as the Gorges of the Ardèche, the Chauvet cave, the Aven d’Orgnac, the Cèze valley, Barjac and the Pont du Gard.

Graham’s garden

Graham’s garden is a unique and magical place. In the 12th century, the village monks discovered a spring located in an ideal place to grow their vegetables and create a washing pool. It is on the l’Astic estate. It took a lot of motivation and patience to clear and restore it, a project run by Graham with the help of neighbors, friends and family.

Unfortunately, Graham was not able to finish it before leaving us, it is a project that is still ongoing and active at the domaine, like many others. You can take a short walk of 10 minutes to get there and stop for a moment to feel the good energies that flow there.

On request, and at a cost, you can pick up the seasonal organic vegetables.
